Atelier and Atelierista
Atelier|Spatial Area
One of the largest ateliers in Japan (approximately 470 square meters) is located on the 28th floor of the hotel, overlooking Osaka Bay. Stacking colorful palettes on the theme of Osaka Nanko, a logistics hub, the hotel features an enjoyable and sophisticated space with rhythm. Here, you can spend time gazing at and carefully engaging with the many materials that have been prepared to give you a sense of the identity of the objects. Through this time, you will discover new ways to play in the relationship between objects, by choosing and devising what interests you. I saw this kind of independent action as the beginning of learning, which creates possibilities for the future. There are three areas in the atelier: interest, exploration, and expression, and each area is designed to be used for selection and exploration.
Feeling the connection with the region (Gallery)]
At the entrance of Atelier, there is a gallery to get you interested in "things" and "things," so you can feel connected to the region. RISONARE Osaka is located in Nanko, a land where various natural objects, technologies, and people have joined forces. All the materials displayed here have been provided to people involved in manufacturing in the region. It is filled with the desire to be a catalyst for people to notice their own likes through meeting here and spending time with things. (The theme changes depending on the time of year)

■Feel the colors and textures of various objects The area where materials are gathered under the theme of "colors" is decorated with industrial and natural products, such as Bengala (*1) dyed cloth and leaves that change colors depending on the season. Through color gradients and encounters with shades that can see through the light from the window, we will explore the sense of color. In addition, we will be able to feel soft and hard objects and experience that will lead us to discover textures and shapes. In addition, we will be able to use our hands to combine the materials here and feel colors, textures, shapes, etc., so that we can experience compositional expressions while having fun. *1 Bengala is an ingredient (iron oxide) that comes from the soil, and it is also called red hull or petal, and its etymology is so called because it was introduced from the Bengal region of India.
■encounter with tool
s Through drawing, you can also encounter art materials such as paints and brushes used by experts. To give you a sense of the range of hues, we have prepared green paints with light to dark colors and thin or thick brushes. If you combine colors and objects that you normally think are one, they will become different, have slight differences, and lead to new awareness. You can also choose what you want to represent as a canvas. You can draw on anything you like, including drawing paper, windows, or large sheets of paper spread across the floor.
■shape using the whole bod
y Touch clay or sand and knead it by hand, or try putting footprints on clay, and experience it with the whole body. There are four types of clay that are also used as ceramic clay. Each one has a different color and texture, which makes you curious. By repeatedly making something from scratch or scraping and starting over, you deepen your curiosity. You can also enjoy the feeling of painting with light on a sandy canvas with sand spread over a light table shining from below.
■Know the light and the shadow
Materials can be projected by a projector onto a white cloth or wall that resembles a screen. By projecting materials, colors can be seen through, even a single object can be seen differently, and the properties of light and shadow can be felt. You can also enjoy the experience of adding creativity to the light table in Aterier by placing a combination of objects that allow light through and objects that do not.
■Material library of interesting materials and tools
This library is a collection of familiar materials from everyday life, such as natural objects, industrial products, and crafts that have been introduced by various experts, and you can encounter various expressive materials. This shelf, called the "shelf of inquiry," is a collection of materials and tools based on five themes related to "fish and sea," "insects and insects," "geology and stone," "crafts," and "industry," to arouse children's interest and curiosity. (Materials may change depending on the season)
【 Exploration partner Aterierista 】
Aterierista is an exploration partner that supports children's activities through expression. Sprinkling the seeds of interest and concern in Aterier, Aterierista picks up inspiration and supports each child's activities.

Deepen expression (expression area)
■Project activities that address themes from diverse perspectives
Engage in projects that draw out your creative potential and deepen your expression through dialogue with your partner in exploration, the art expert Atelierista. There are a variety of approaches to themes, including spatial, structural, and visual. There are a variety of experiences available, including those that involve children alone and those that challenge everyone to create a large work. Instead of creating a fixed work, children expand their own independent interests and questions to deepen their expression. This is an activity that allows them to face themselves and learn together while having fun. Also, after the project is over, the family members will reflect together.

Comments on the design
The design considers the scenery of Nanko visible from the atelier and guest rooms as the biggest appeal. The atelier is inspired by the industrial look of the bay visible ahead, using an industrial palette not normally used for interiors to design a colorful landscape. Rhythmic variations in elevation and perforated board used on the pillars and walls make all kinds of activities possible in the atelier. The guest rooms are designed with fun, happy graphics to stimulate creativity. If children feel as if their creative impulse is tickled by the wall motifs and the view of Osaka Bay, they can enjoy drawing on the whiteboard. Guest rooms with nets hanging from the ceilings can allow children to see Osaka Bay and their families from a new perspective, so by the time they check out they might feel like a different person.
