~ Summer exploration project "Getting on the wind" ~

During the sweaty summer months, the wind that blows casually can be felt as cool and precious, and with cool clothing, you can feel the wind directly on your skin. This is a project activity that fosters children's creativity by meeting the invisible existence of the wind and deepening exploration through time spent thinking.

What if I feel the wind?

A Wind Device is prepared to create the wind blowing up into the sky. What kind of wind shapes will children encounter? They will use their hands, eyes, and ears to sense the wind, catch the movement and rhythm, and deepen their exploration by expanding their own imaginations of the wind.

*"Wind Device" cooperation: Masae Sugiura, production advice at Ocha University Children's Center

What happens when you put it on the wind?

In addition to the Wind Device, we have prepared paper materials that allow children to explore the wind. The types of paper that play various roles in daily life, including familiar drawing paper and traditional Japanese paper, come in a variety of shapes and textures. The movements that result from the slight differences in thickness and shape, such as fluidly riding on the wind or spinning back and forth, will inspire children's creativity.

Through encounters with the wind

The large windows of the project room on the 28th floor of Atelier overlook the sky, the city, and the sea. During the project activities, children notice the clouds that flow, stare at the sea surface as it flickers, and discover new perspectives in daily life through encounters with various "winds." We hope that even after the project is over, children will continue to develop their interests.
