Discovery Project: "Swimming in the Sky" ~ A journey through the clouds begins in an atelier 100 meters above ground ~
The sky is always there, whenever you look up.
From the windows of our 28th-floor atelier, a majestic view of the sky over Osaka Bay stretches out,
changing its expression moment by moment.
In this project, children will immerse themselves in a space that feels as if they have stepped right into the sky.
Guided by the ever-changing atmosphere and their own rich imaginations,
they will weave their unique stories and expressions.
When the real sky outside the window meets the sky within their minds,
what kind of stories will take flight?
Create the sky
Using fabrics, ropes, and sheets, we manifest an entire world of the sky.
Reflected in the vast mirror on the ceiling, our figures appear as if we are completely immersed within the clouds.
Moving our bodies with dynamic energy, we co-create a sky that is uniquely our own.
Draw the sky
A mirror table is placed right by the window,
creating a scene where the sky itself seems to step inside the room.
Upon this table reflecting the sky of the day,
children can place their own creations
or freely paint their imagined landscapes on large sheets of paper.
Floated within this sky-like realm, what kinds of stories will they imagine,
and what will they bring to life?
Through our project with the sky
In this 28th-floor atelier,
children engage their five senses to capture the ever-changing clouds,
the pouring light, and the presence of the formless wind.
This encounter with the "sky" grants them a new perspective—
one that notices the subtle, hidden shifts in everyday life.
Even after the project ends,
we hope that the "seeds of curiosity" sown in this room will expand boundlessly,
just like the vast sky.
