For photo requests, please visit our form here

OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka, a city tourism hotel in downtown Otsuka with retro vibes, will offer a new stay plan from 1 June to 31 August 2022. Explore Tokyo like a local during the hot summer season by visiting an athletic center for baseball (batting cage), sento (public baths), shopping districts for shaved ice or beer, and a long-established hair salon for a head massage. Freshen up with a clean hit of home runs, wash away the heat at the sento and release any tension in the body with a head massage!

Background
Otsuka is a place with a traditional downtown atmosphere, with streetcars running and a lively shopping district. This friendly neighborhood has many retro spots and unique stores in the area, inviting guests to keep Otsuka as a place in Tokyo to become a home away from home. This stay plan was developed in the hopes that guests will feel refreshed whilst enjoying the unique characteristics of Otsuka in the hot summer.

Example itinerary for the Otsuka Summer Refreshment Stay Plan
4:00 pm Swing away at the athletic center for baseball
During check-in, the Otsuka refreshing map will be handed to guests. This map has all our recommended places and stores in the neighborhood to feel refreshed. First, head to the retro athletic center for baseball (batting cage). Swing the bat with all your power and aim for clean hits to relieve any stress!

4:30 pm Freshen up at the sento, public baths
After some exercise at the athletic center, visit a nearby sento, which has been in business since the Taisho period (1912-1926). This is a unique sento with colorful shoe boxes and a ceiling full of drawings of space in the dressing room. Wash away the heat at the sento, where guests can enjoy 5 types of baths such as the jacuzzi, medicinal bath, lying-down bath, lukewarm micron air bubble bath, and cold bath. After a nice bath, enjoy cold bottled milk in front of a fan in the dressing rooms to cool down. By showing the Otsuka refreshing map, guests will get to use towels and enjoy cold bottled milk for free.

5:30 pm Cool down & replenish the body!
After taking a bath, you can walk along the shopping district and go to the perfect store to cool down. Guests can choose to visit either a long-established Japanese confectionery store, found 85 years ago, for a mini shaved ice or a craft beer store, with beer from all over the world, for a mini beer.

7:00 pm End the night with a cooler
Otsuka is sometimes referred to as “the sacred place for sake.” At night, guests can enjoy a cup of sake that has been cooled in their room, where the sake was specially selected by the owner of a nearby sake specialty restaurant. Enjoy a refreshing evening on a hot summer night by having the sake on the rocks or with soda. Those who are not sake lovers can enjoy the night with ramune soda, bottled soda with a marble stopper.

Next morning 10:00 am Head massage at a local hair salon
Ease into a head massage at Barber Mae, a long-established hair salon in business for over 50 years. Start the day off with a refreshing head massage and release any tension in the mind!
