Introducing the “Autumn Forest Glamping Stay” at the Northern Foothills of Mount Fuji

The "Cloud Terrace," where guests can enjoy a bonfire amidst the comfortable autumn climate.

HOSHINOYA Fuji will offer the “Autumn Forest Glamping Stay” from September 11 to December 2, 2026. Located in the northern slopes of Mount Fuji, with vibrant autumn trees and thriving wildlife, guests can enjoy nature in a cool climate. Five exclusive experiences include a moon-viewing lounge, guided forest walk for nuts and mushrooms, and a sukiyaki with red-wine sauce. Guests can relax with coffee and local delicacies or spend long evenings under the full moon, immersing in the season’s serenity.

Background
HOSHINOYA Fuji is located in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, on hilly terrain at 840–940 meters elevation. In this season, longer nights reveal nuts and mushrooms on the ground, hinting at many living creatures. The resort offers a stay where guests can enjoy the forest with a Glamping Master, surrounded by autumn sounds. The program provides relaxation from city life, with opportunities to connect with nature and learn comfortably.

Autumn Forest Glamping Stay
1. Finding Forest Blessings on Leaf-Covered Paths: “Autumn Forest Discover Walk”
Guests walk through the autumn woods in search of mushrooms and nuts from trees such as cedars and cypresses that color the northern foothills of Mount Fuji. Led by a HOSHINOYA Fuji staff member known as the Glamping Master, guests stroll along the Cloud Terrace paths, softened by fallen leaves, and enjoy the rich and ever-changing expressions of nature, including gentle breezes and soft autumn sunlight.

2. Appreciating Long Nights Under Clear Moonlight: "Moonlight Lounge" (NEW)
The Moonlight Lounge appears in the forest exclusively for three nights each month, centered on the full moon. In this season of clear air and beautifully reflected moonlight, guests follow the local custom of Tsukimachi, passed down in the northern foothills of Mount Fuji, where people gather to converse while waiting for the moon to rise.
A limited-edition cocktail inspired by the moon is served, and guests can enjoy the cool stillness of the autumn night by the bonfire while reading books about the moon or creating shadow puppets under its light.

3. Savoring Coffee and Autumn Delicacies of Yamanashi: “Forest Moments”
In the autumn forest, where guests can also admire the colorful foliage, HOSHINOYA Fuji offers a rustic coffee experience that captures the essence of glamping. Amid the crackle of burning firewood, guests can enjoy aromatic field coffee boiled over a bonfire, paired with small confections made from grapes—one of Yamanashi’s autumn specialties. It is a peaceful afternoon to spend at one’s favorite seat in nature, far from the bustle of the city.

4. Unlocking the Secrets of the Fuji Forest Through Scent: “Scented Forest Distillation”
In “Scented Forest Distillation,” guests can experience the scents of distilled water extracted from forest materials. The program uses plants that color the northern foothills of Mount Fuji, including cypresses native to HOSHINOYA Fuji, mugwort flowers that bloom in autumn with a refreshing fragrance, and pine cones. In the crisp air, guests can appreciate the depth of the abundant forest through their sense of smell, watching the fragrance being distilled drop by drop before their eyes.

5. Indulging with a Specially Selected " Red Wine Sukiyaki Pot"
At dusk, when the pleasant autumn evening breeze can be felt, a special sukiyaki pot is served in the cabin (guestroom). Guests can enjoy tender Wagyu beef with concentrated umami, along with nutrient-rich seasonal vegetables unique to the autumn harvest. The dish is finished with a fragrant soup base made with rich red wine. Gathering around the warm pot, guests can savor a leisurely dinner that enriches the quiet forest night.
