Japan’s first glamping resort, HOSHINOYA Fuji, will host “Aperitif on a Lake With a Spectacular View,” an event where guests can enjoy sake on a terrace floating atop a lake with Diamond Fuji starting October 20 to November 30, 2022. Diamond Fuji, a phenomenon that can be seen when the sun overlaps the top of Mt. Fuji, can be seen in the crisp air from the lake. Immerse yourself in an elegant time gazing at the unobstructed, spectacular scenery on a terrace atop a lake, with sparkling wine made in the image of a brilliant diamond.

Background
Diamond Fuji can be seen from Lake Yamanakako for a longer period of time compared to other observation sites, making the lake a perfect place to capture Diamond Fuji (*).  However, the observation sites along the lakeshore tend to be crowded with tourists, photographers, and many others. The surrounding environment is also cold, with average winter temperatures ranging from 0 to 2 degrees Celsius. We developed this program in the hopes that guests can spend an elegant time with the spectacular views of Diamond Fuji.

Characteristic 1) Enjoy a spectacular view on a terrace atop a lake
Lake Yamanakako offers the closest view of Mount Fuji among the Fuji Five Lakes. Board on a small boat and head to the perfect viewpoint where Diamond Fuji can be seen while gazing at the swans and gentle mountain ridges. Guests will be escorted to the floating terrace on the lake, specifically available for participants of this program. Nothing will obstruct the sight, where the magnificent views of Mount Fuji can be seen. Admire the breathtaking scenery of Diamond Fuji as the sun overlaps at the peak of Japan’s most iconic mountain.

Characteristic 2) Savor sparkling wine while gazing at the breathtaking scenery
During a stay at the outdoor terrace, Alga Blanca Brillante by Katsunuma Brewery, one of Yamanashi Prefecture’s leading breweries., will be served. It is a sparkling wine made from Koshu, a grape variety unique to Japan. Enjoy the breathtaking sight with a glass of sparkling wine in hand, savoring the natural sweetness of the grape. Snack on finger foods made from wild game and fruits to accompany the refreshing wine. The sparkling wine is made with the image of the color of a brilliantly shining diamond, which is a perfect drink to pair with the Diamond Fuji.

Characteristic 3) Support from glamping masters
Our glamping masters will prepare comfortable spaces on the terrace with spectacular views. They will give their full support by preparing the terrace with tables, chairs, and blankets for warmth. On the way to the terrace, guests will get insight into Diamond Fuji as well as the surrounding nature.
