The specialty of Shincha (tea made from the first harvest of the year) is that its flavors are stored up during the harsh cold of the winter and it contains the fresh aroma of young leaves. You will be able to compare the rich flavor of Shincha with tea harvested in summer or autumn.

Held every evening, this activity introduces guests to the richness of Japanese teas. The teas available change depending on the season.
We prepare a tasting event of Kawane tea, which has a refreshing, summery taste, as well as brown-rice tea and deep-steamed tea (fukamushicha).

KAI Cultural Discovery-Autumn

Aged Honyama tea is said to have been a favorite drink of Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu. This tea is stored in a warehouse over the summer at an altitude of 1,200 meters, just like during the Tokugawa era.You will enjoy its mellow taste.

ABCs of Onsen Culture

Kanzanji Onsen is a hot spring resort spread along the shores of Lake Hamana. Its waters are categorized as a strong chloride spring, boasting one of the highest salt concentrations in Japan.
Following a staff lecture featuring a traditional hanging scroll that uncovers the history and secrets of Kanzanji Onsen, we invite you to join our "Bath Salt Making Experience," where you can truly feel the unique qualities of these waters. The bath salt you create can be taken home as a souvenir, allowing you to relax and immerse yourself in the lingering memories of your journey at KAI Enshu long after your stay.
