Grand Reopening on August 13, 2025
KAI Hakone
KAI Hakone will reopen after renovations in August 2025.Highlights
13ONSEN
Guests can enjoy a relaxed soak in baths lined with ancient hinoki cypress, with only the murmur of the river breaking the silence. An elegant window frames the lush nature surrounding the ryokan.
23CULTURE
Hakone is a post town that crosses the most difficult part of the Tokaido road. Teahouses known as chaya have supported people in resting before and after crossing the mountain pass. We will continue to carry on this culture and recreate "chaya" in the courtyard.
33KAISEKI
A classic Hakone dish—broth-boiled beef and vegetables—is served at dinner. Beef became more prominent in Hakone food culture in the 19th century to cater to the Westerners who flocked to the area’s hot springs.
Rooms
KAI Signature Rooms offer a deeper dive into the local culture. At KAI Hakone, the rooms offer scenic views.
