The iconic former Yokohama City Hall, a structure long cherished by citizens and designed by the celebrated architect Togo Murano, is now being reborn as a hotel. To preserve its legacy, original features were carefully incorporated: the Taizan tile art is featured in the bakery, the former Assembly Hall's circular lighting is reused in the lobby, and the Citizen's Plaza grand staircase—including its original wooden handrails—is recreated as the main hotel staircase.

OMO7 Yokohama is a part of BASEGATEYokohama Kannai, a large-scale multipurpose facility in front of Kannai Station. The facility will generate new excitement in Kannai by bringing together a bookstore where food and art merge to offer new cultural experiences, immersive live viewings of sports and music, and one of Japan's largest gourmet street onsisting of 34 restaurants and pubs.
