where pufferfish and Japanese sake invite you to a state of "supreme bliss."

Fuku Sake Room

The Fuku Sake Room features an original sake crafted in collaboration with the century-old Shimonoseki Shuzo brewery, along with a curated selection of appetizers and sake ware designed to enhance every sip. The living area is adorned with a striking design wall of stacked Masu (wooden sake cups) and art panels inspired by pufferfish. Whether you are savoring local sake at the Horigotatsu, playing with our original "Fuku Trump" cards, or simply gathering for conversation, this room is a space where families and friends can fully immerse themselves in the rich culture of "Fuku" and Japanese sake.

A design wall where Fuku and Sake meet art

The room, themed around "Fuku" (pufferfish) and Japanese sake, features a striking design wall crafted from stacked Masu (traditional wooden sake measuring cups). The walls are also adorned with art panels inspired by pufferfish fins. It is a space where you can spend your time as you wish—watching the ever-changing view of the Kanmon Straits from the window or visually immersing yourself in the rich local culture.

Concept Room Exclusive "Sake Pairing" Experience

The design wall in your room features a selection of three types of beverages and appetizers, along with sake ware thoughtfully curated to complement each drink. The freedom to explore these perfect pairings at your own pace is an exclusive privilege available only to guests staying in this concept room.

Original Sake × Guinomi Sake Cup × Summer Orange Peel

Created in collaboration with the century-old Shimonoseki Shuzo brewery, our original sake was developed by using the assemblage technique(*) to blend their "Kurabito no Jimanzake" and "Bakan Karakuchi Ginjo." The result is a delicate and graceful flavor that even sake beginners will find easy to enjoy. Savor this original sake in a Guinomi cup handcrafted by a Shimonoseki lacquerware artisan, paired with Natsumikan (summer orange) peel for a refreshing finish. *Assemblage: A traditional technique of blending different base sakes to create a deep and harmonious flavor.

Sparkling Sake × Hagi Glassware × Tiger Pufferfish Crackers

Dassai Junmai Daiginjo 45 Nigori Sparkling is characterized by the natural sweetness of Yamada Nishiki rice, unique to unfiltered sake. When enjoyed in Hagi glassware, you can truly appreciate its vibrant and crisp finish. We pair this with Tora-fuku (Tiger Pufferfish) crackers, infused with savory pufferfish extract. The light, crispy texture combined with the effervescence of the sparkling sake will surely awaken your appetite.

Amazake × Original Ochoko Sake Cup × Spicy Shor

Shimonoseki Shuzo's Amazake is crafted solely from rice and rice koji, characterized by its soft mouthfeel and delicate aroma. Savoring it in our original Hagi-yaki Ochoko cup, colored to reflect the waters of the Kanmon Straits, further enhances its gentle texture. This pairing allows you to enjoy the harmonious blend of the koji’s fragrance with the bold notes of our Spicy Shortbread, made with sake lees and cumin.

Relax at the Horigotatsu and discover the playful world of "Fuku"

A cozy Horigotatsu (sunken floor table) sits at the center of the living area, creating the perfect setting for gathering with a drink in hand. Stretching out your legs and losing track of time in deep conversation is truly one of the greatest joys of travel. To add to the excitement, we provide original "Fuku Trump" playing cards. Featuring designs of pufferfish found at Kaikyokan, the Shimonoseki City Aquarium—which boasts the world's largest variety of pufferfish on display—these cards allow you to become familiar with the world of "Fuku" while you play.
