Yamanashi: The Birthplace of Japanese Wine
Yamanashi Prefecture is a historic wine region where Japan's first domestic wines were produced. With an ideal climate, soil, and sunlight for wine grape cultivation, it has given rise to a rich history of unique wineries. These wineries have evolved over time to produce high-quality wines that are recognized both in Japan and internationally.
Discovering New Japanese Wines
Yamanashi Prefecture, with over 90 wineries, has the largest number of wineries in Japan. Each winery creates unique wines that reflect its specific terroir. A stay at our wine resort, nestled in this premier region, offers the unique pleasure of discovering not only familiar wines but also new ones you've never encountered before.
YATSUGATAKE WINE HOUSE
We have a wine server offering tastings of 24 varieties of carefully selected wines from Yamanashi and Nagano. You can try a small amount of each, making it easy to discover new wines.
This experience is designed to be accessible for wine beginners, with content like a chart to help you find your favorite wine and a look into the secrets behind the delicious wines made in Yamanashi and Nagano Prefectures.
VINO BOX
We offer a set of recommended wines made from "Koshu" and "Muscat Bailey A," grape varieties native to Japan and widely grown in Yamanashi. Enjoy these special wines in the comfort of your room.
BYO-Friendly Declaration
You can bring wines purchased at the Yatsugatake Wine House into the resort's restaurants and cafes free of charge. *BYO is an abbreviation for "Bring Your Own (wine)."

Activities to Experience Terroir
Located at the southern base of the Yatsugatake mountains, our resort takes advantage of its surroundings—the magnificent peaks of the Yatsugatake Range, the Southern Alps, and Mt. Fuji. We offer a variety of experiences that let you do more than just drink wine; you can also enjoy the rich natural environment where wine grapes are grown.
Seasonal Events
At Piman Street, our main thoroughfare, we host a variety of seasonal events. These include special celebrations centered around grapes and wine.
Apéro in the Vineyard
Enjoy an aperitif before dinner in a vineyard where wine grapes are grown. It's a special moment where you can feel the evening air, smell the scent of the soil, and hear the rustle of leaves in the wind.
Our Special Suites: The Enduring Charm of a Wine Resort
The Wine Suite Maisonette is a duplex suite that embodies our wine resort. Designed with a Bordeaux color theme, the room features a wine cellar where you can enjoy a selection of wines curated by the resort (additional fee applies).
