Luxurious Winter Resort Escape
Seasonal Flow of Gusuku Resid
Okinawa, a tropical paradise, experiences its own distinct seasons, marked by seasonal blossoms, the ocean's varying hues, and fresh island ingredients. The "old calendar" (kyuureki), deeply rooted in daily life since the Ryukyu Kingdom era, is said to be connected to the cycles of crop harvesting and fishing. At HOSHINOYA Okinawa, we offer unique experiences that let you feel these distinct seasons and host events throughout the year aligned with the old calendar, which is still cherished in Okinawa today.
The Luxury Exclusive to Okinawan Winter
Okinawa is a warm retreat where winter temperatures rarely drop below 15. You can spend leisurely time in a heated infinity pool, or at the New Year's feast based on the kyūreki (old calendar)—still cherished today—you can experience Okinawa's traditional way of welcoming the new year, wishing for a year of good health while taking in traditional attire, Ryukyu dance, and the sounds of the sanshin (Okinawan banjo). Enjoy the culture and cuisine unique to winter in Okinawa in its pleasant climate.
